Poor Maxy
Black Flower Part 2 (almost...)

the blue Power Ranger, because he was the nerdy one jajaja, I also considered myself an inventor, opening up every electronic item I could get my hands on (almost getting there on the whole purple thing). I think almost everyone my age or a 5-year radius was into the Ninja Turtles (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, TMNT) and everyone was either:

Leonardo- Role/Character: Leader; Weapon of Choice: A pair of Katanas (swords); Color of Mask: Blue

Raphael- Role/Character: Anti-Social Bad Boy; Weapon of Choice: A pair of Sais; Color of Mask: Red
Michelangelo- Role/Character: “Party Dude,” and Comic-Relief; Weapon of Choice: A pair of Nunchaku (numchucks)
Nobody wanted to be:

Donatello- "The brilliant scientist, inventor, engineer, and technological genius. He is perhaps the least violent Turtle, preferring to use his intellect to solve conflicts. He wears a purple mask and wields the bō."*
I felt I connected with Donatello so I embraced everything he stood for… even his color which led to my many “gay” insults by my big brother, but I’m over it… I think… I hope so… regardless I know it’s in God’s hands jajaja
I know this did not directly continue my story but you learned about Ninja Turtles! Yay!
Also... leave comments it helps my self-esteem jajaja

Black Flower
Art. The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.I love and enjoy my job at church; not just because I work with Eddie (jajaja). It’s exciting, frustrating, exhilarating, tiresome, fulfilling and tedious all at the same time. And for those who don’t know what I do: I am the Graphic Artist at Christian Center of National City. I design flyers, posters, tickets, biz cards and everything Eddie comes up with. I design for the Dorcas, Varones, Juniors, Youth, The Experience and the Church as a whole (it’s gets overwhelming at times). I am also the Creative Director and Guitar Coordinator at the Experience, which I profoundly enjoy, being under Pastor Eddie’s wing that is. I have my own office (space) with my own personal Mac Pro with a 30” Flat screen (that I share) that requires me to take a break every 10 minutes, jajaja jk.But all this did not come easy. It took time and development. It took patience and obedience. It took Determination and vision. An thus the story begins...I was small and I loved drawing, but I lacked focus. I would start something passionately but finish quickly or quit for I would loose interest. My second grade teacher would loose her temper on me, I still remember her name: Ms. Pichardo, she was old and mean so I knew why she was still a miss. She would call conference after conference with my mom because I would not take pride in my work and I would finish quickly to get the fake money she would give for finishing first. She gave us once a picture of 8 flowers; you know the typically black lines on a brownish-grayish recycled paper [ok, one thing about… I hate (or extremely dislike) coloring jajaja). Well she provided 8 flowers and 9 Crayola color crayons (you remember?): red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white and black. I went through the first 7 but when I got to the 8th flower I ran out of “real” colors and left with white and black, I was not going to reuse another color (at the time it seemed obvious to me) and I wasn’t going to use white on a “white” background so I used black. Well, grumpy Ms. Pichardo went off at me and immediately scheduled a parent conference with my mom denouncing me as a emotionally disturbed child because I colored a black flower… a little off topic there. JajajaWhen I lived in TJ my parents saw my love for art and drawing displayed on the walls of our home. While they were pleased that they bore a creative child they felt lead to redirect my talent towards a different canvas. My parents signed me up for art classes at the Casa de la Cultura, I was in 1st grade and 6 years old, my first artistic training.Right before 3rd grade my family went through a hard economic time and had to leave our home in Tijuana to go live with my grandparents in Chula Vista, California in one bedroom. My dad moved to Arizona to work for my uncle and was not with us for over a year, communicating to us only through cards of goofy and Winnie pooh. I missed him; I wanted my dad back. I would ask my mom who would build me my easel? Who was going to take me to art classes? The day he came back I experienced my first “happy tears” as I called them. I couldn’t explain them, I was extremely happy yet I was crying. My dad was home and the way he made it up was… signing me up for cartoon drawing classes, ofcourse that made my day.4th grade was here and I was the star of my class. I knew how to draw spider-man and batman. I could draw my classmates in capes. I drew Goku and Gohan. I drew Pikachu and Ash Ketchum. 5th grade passed and my popularity grew and grew, everyone knew me, I was the school artist. My dad signed me up for watercoloring classes and off I was towards my still-life endeavors. My aunt asked to buy one of my paintings to hang on her wall. I refused, but was still grateful that my art was considered worthy of exhibition. As I graduated, or promoted, from elementary to middle school, I left a legacy. In P.E. my younger brother was selected first for soccer teams because he was the brother of “Misael.”
…that was half of my artistic story, return for the next half, or not, completely up to you. I on the other hand have to come back because I have made a commitment to you, I will provide you the next exhilarating chapter of this story-o-mine.

Middle Child Syndrom
The middle or second born child or children often have the sense of not belonging. They fight to receive attention from parents and others because they feel many times they are being ignored or dubbed off as being the same as another sibling. Being in the middle a child can feel insecure. The middle child often lacks drive and looks for direction from the first born child. Sometimes a middle child feels out of place because they are not over achievers and like to go with the flow of things.
Being a middle child would mean they are loners. They really don’t like to latch on to a person in a relationship, there fore they have trouble keeping one due to lack of interest. Not liking to take the limelight for anything, they are not over achievers and just simply work enough work to get by, and typically that goes with school as well as a career. They are however very artistic and creative. If forced to use abilities they will work well, but do not work well under pressure. They often start several projects but rarely keep focused long enough to finish a project. The best career move for a middle child would be along the lines of using their creative. Going into a writing or journalism career, and into a career that they could freely express themselves would be good. Anything that would have hours that are flexible, and projects that frequently changed would be good for a middle born child. Since relationships are not of high importance to a middle child, often times they are alone. However, the best possible match for a middle child would be a last born.

Pastor Eddie Zellars
I love this guy, he's my youth pastor, The Expirienc pastor, mentor,
business partner, hero, and most of all he's my friend that "stiketh
closer than a brother". I would follow this guy wherever he goes. He
has turned my life upside down and backgrounds, as of others at my
church.
Because of this guy a whole generation will be saved through worship.
I am blessed, honored and thankful that God has put me under his wing
and guided me through my spiritual and physical life.
One of my greatest prayers is for Eddie to see the fruits of his
labors through me. I am truly blessed to have him as a friend and... I
have bragging rights.
I love Pastor Eddie

CCNC Prayer Floor
This carpet floor, cluttered with red ornaments and mustard-yellow negative space, which our members are familiar with and see every time we come to church, that we kneel on every time we pray is a carpet worth getting use to. Come as much as you can to pray, I know it’s hard, it’s a challenge but exactly because of that we should do it, we should undertake life together in prayer. I can hardly pray 15 minutes sometimes, I run out of words or wonder off, but I still come, to challenge myself, I still kneel on this carpet. How can I grow intimate with God if I never attempt to talk to Him? How can I call Him friend if I never “hang out” with Him?
My mom urged me to go to Morning Prayer at 6am (I know it’s not 5am like Eddie but that’s early for me) I was reluctant at first. I wasn’t going to get my 8 hours of sleep!!! Jajajaja I thought I would fall asleep praying when my mind started wondering off. But I decided to give it a try, because everyone at church is talking about how “incredible” it is, Eddie keeps on saying how blessed he gets, but I thought it was just to get you to go. So I woke up and dropped my bro at work and went to church for prayer and I was amazed at how many people get up that early. I prayed and read the word, which was truly a blessing; God spoke to me through these verses:
Amos 21: 24 (MSG), which Eddie shared with me:
“I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals.
I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
That’s what I want. That’s all I want.
Sometimes we get so emerged in the program but…. That’s a whole other blog jajaja

Hagiazo Retro Shirt
BUT before you scroll down and look at the shirt I want to show you how this shirt came to be...
First, I wasn't even thinking of making a Hagiazo shirt, I was trying to make a logo for future Hagiazo Youth Movement ministry called H.E.A.R.T., which stands for Hagiazo Evangelism And Reconciliation Team. This team would go with Pastor Eddie wherever he went to help him evangelize and stuff, Here's the initial sketches:

You can see on the top left-hand corner the initial idea and it just went another way... because I felt it didn't really work, the "T" killed it for me, but I couldn't take it off because then it would be H.E.A.R. and... that is obviously something else...

Weeks (or days) later I quickly sketched the word Hagiazo to see if it worked and...

I liked it and quickly went to my Mac and worked out the rest of the design on Illustrator..
We sent it out to print with some difficulty because the colors were too bright to actually be printed because it was designed in RGB (Red, Green, Blue) but it needed to designed in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and K-Black). So... I had to tone the colors down with a little hesitation from me and Eddie. But we still ordered them, a risky move, but a must for two entrepreneurs jajajaja. We just had to wait ten LONG days....
We finally got and email yesterday saying that the shirts were printed, so we went today to pick them up!!

And they were there ready for us to pick up! We are excited and hope you are too. So buy 'em, buy 'em, buy 'em!! Support Hagiazo Apparel!
We will be selling them today at Open Your Mouth @ 7pm and tomorrow and any time you see me or Eddie
